Detailed Maintenance Procedures
Following these manufacturer-aligned maintenance procedures will ensure optimal grader performance and extend service life. Adjust frequencies based on operating conditions, especially in severe environments.
Circle and Drawbar Maintenance
- Park on level ground with blade centered
- Lower moldboard to ground for stability
- Check circle teeth for wear and proper mesh with drive pinion
- Inspect circle wear strips/shoes for proper adjustment
- Verify drawbar ball stud-to-socket clearance (per specs)
- Lubricate all circle and drawbar grease points
- Check all mounting bolts and fasteners for tightness
Hydraulic System Service
- Warm hydraulic oil to operating temperature
- Lower all attachments to ground position
- Relieve pressure before opening system
- Clean area around fill cap before removing
- Replace hydraulic filters as per schedule
- Check for proper oil level after system warm-up
- Inspect all cylinders for leaks and rod damage
Tandem Drive Maintenance
- Check tandem oil level with machine on level ground
- Inspect tandem case for leaks or damage
- Verify chain tension and adjustment
- Examine tandem pivot pins and bushings
- Check walking beam for cracks or distortion
- Lubricate all tandem pivot points
- Ensure all seals are intact with no leakage
Blade System Inspection
- Examine cutting edge for wear pattern and remaining life
- Check end bits for wear and proper attachment
- Measure moldboard for excessive wear or damage
- Verify all blade positioning mechanisms operate smoothly
- Test blade lift, side-shift, and angle functions
- Inspect all pins and bushings for wear
- Check for hydraulic drift when blade is positioned
