Maintenance Guidelines
These guidelines outline recommended maintenance tasks to complement your monthly inspections. Following these schedules helps prevent equipment failures and extends the service life of your crawler crane.
Monthly Maintenance
- Grease all pins, bearings, and pivot points
- Check and tighten all accessible bolts and fasteners
- Inspect and clean air filters
- Drain water from fuel filters/separators
- Check track tension and adjust if necessary
- Inspect and lubricate wire ropes
- Check hydraulic filter condition and replace if needed
- Inspect batteries and clean terminals
- Test safety systems thoroughly
- Document all maintenance performed
Quarterly Maintenance
- Change engine oil and filters
- Replace hydraulic return filters
- Check swing gear teeth and lubrication
- Inspect slew ring bearings and bolting
- Check and adjust valve clearances
- Inspect sheave bearings and lubricate
- Perform detailed wire rope inspection
- Service winch drum bearings
- Check and adjust brake systems
- Test load moment system with test weights
Semi-Annual Maintenance
- Change hydraulic oil and filters
- Replace fuel filters
- Check coolant condition and strength
- Drain and service air tanks
- Check track drive gear oil levels
- Inspect boom sections with NDT methods
- Full inspection of wire ropes and replacement if needed
- Check swing reduction gear oil
- Perform detailed hook and block inspection
- Have third-party inspection performed if required
Annual Maintenance
- Complete undercarriage inspection and service
- Perform certified load test if required
- Complete drive system overhaul
- Test and calibrate all safety devices
- Replace hydraulic hoses showing signs of aging
- Check swing ring for excessive wear
- Inspect and replace worn pins and bushings
- Complete structural inspection by qualified inspector
- Repaint areas with corrosion or damaged paint
- Update all maintenance records and compliance documentation
